About NICA & FICL
Our team is proud to be part of the Florida Interscholastic Cycling League (FICL), which operates under the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) — the national organization that brings youth mountain biking to life across the country.
NICA’s mission is to build strong minds, strong bodies, and strong character through cycling, and our team is committed to living out those values every day. We encourage you to explore more about NICA and FICL so you can better understand the vision and spirit that guide our program.
2025–2026 Registration Fees & Process
Total Registration Cost: $555
Joining the team is a two-step process:
Step 1 — Team Registration: $185
First, register directly with Tarpon Coast Composite.
Your team fee helps cover local expenses, including:
- Coach licensing & safety training
- Practice equipment and loaner bicycles
- Race day nutrition for athletes
- Pit Zone area equipment & supplies
- First aid kits, training, and communication devices
- Team picnic & community events
- Athlete race jersey and name plates
- USA Cycling & supplemental insurance
- Miscellaneous coach travel expenses
Note: Both the rider and a parent/guardian must review and acknowledge our Sportsmanship & Conduct Standards and Riding Policies as part of this step.
Step 2 — NICA / FICL Registration: $370
Once your team registration is complete, we’ll activate your rider in the NICA Pit Zone — a secure online system where you’ll finalize registration, sign waivers, and complete participation agreements.
This fee includes:
- NICA and FICL league registration
- NICA insurance coverage
- 5 race events & 1 adventure weekend
- League programs like GRiT (Girls Riding Together), Teen Trail Corps, and Adventure programming
- Certified NICA coaches at all practices and events
- Access to top-quality youth sports coaching curriculum
- Professional event development and support
- A safe, structured, and inclusive riding environment
- Exclusive discounts from NICA/FICL sponsors
Important: This fee must be paid in full before a rider can participate in practices.
